Free RV camping is allowed on
public lands managed by the USDA White Rive National Forest. The
historic Camp Hale area is the original home of the US Army 10th
Mountain Division. This unit used the Camp Hale area for
mountain combat training during WWII. Today, the area offers
numerous outdoor recreation opportunities.
