Great RV camping opportunities from lakes in deep forests, to coastal campgrounds can be found in Georgia. Private RV parks and campgrouns are located throughout Georgia, and State Parks and Forests have developed campgrounds for RV camping. Georgia Free RV Camping
Free RV camping is available throughout Georgia. Dispersed free RV camping (boondocking) is permitted on Public Lands administered by the USDA Forest Service in Georgia. State Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) also offer free primitive camping in designated areas.

Located in northern Georgia, great free dispersed RV camping (boondocking) sites can be found throughout the USDA Chattahoochee National Forest. Developed
campgrounds are located throughout the area, and make great base camps to explore for the best RV camping sites.
Located in central Georgia, the USDA Oconee National Forest has developed fee campgrounds, and free dispersed RV camping (boondocking) is allowed along forest roads. Contact the Oconee Ranger District for access and suggested camping locations.

Georgia Public Campgrounds
Georgia offers great RV camping sites from the mountains and forests, to ocean beaches. The following listings are only examples of RV camping sites available at public campgrounds.
One of Georgia’s oldest and most popular, Vogel State Park offers over 100 RV camping sites in the north Georgia mountains. Great hiking trails and rugged scenery.
RV camping is available at one the nations most popular lakes. Lake Sidney Lanier hosts over 7.5 million visitors each year, and is located in the foothills of the Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains. 76 developed recreation areas.
Several developed public campgrounds are available for RV camping around USACE/COE – Carters Lake.
An interesting combination State Park and Historic Site, A.H. Stephens Historic Park
offers 25 campsites, and one of the best Civil War artifact collections in Georgia.
24 campsites, the highest water falls east of the Mississippi, and miles of trails make Amicalola Falls State Park a great RV camping destination. One of Georgia’s most popular parks.
50 RV camping sites are available at the General Coffee State Park. This park has a Heritage Farm, with log cabins, a corn crib, tobacco barn, cane mill, barnyard animals and other exhibits.
Located on Clarks Hill Lake, Bobby Brown State Parkoffers 61 campsites, and water sports of all types. Swimming pool and concessions.
RV camping deep in the forest is available at The Pocket Recreation Area. 27 campsites, most located along a stream. Hiking trails nearby.
Located in the north Georgia mountains, the USDA Chattahoochee National Forest, the MMorganton Point Campground offers 37 campsites overlooking Lake Blue Ridge.
Located near Lookout Mountain, Cloudland Canyon State Park offers 73 campsites. Rugged scenery and hiking trails
Located on the Colonial Coast, Crooked River State Park has 62 campsites available for RVs and tents. Saltwater Fishing, boating, kayaking, hiking, and birding are just some of the activities available.
