This is the general location of Lone
Pine. California rest areas along US highway 395 near town
have RV dump and fresh water available. The town has RV
supplies, vehicle repair shops, groceries, fuel, and restaurants. Click

Free RV Camping
Location
RV camping is allowed extensively in the Bureau of
Land Management (BLM) Alabama Hills Recreation Area just 3 miles west
of Lone Pine. This area has seen the making of hundreds of television
shows and movies. The Lone Ranger, The Long Long Trailer, How
The West Was Won and Romancing The Stone all have been partially or
fully filmed in this area. Great scenery of the eastern

BLM Administered Lands
This map depicts public lands in the Lone Pine
area. The purple shaded areas are BLM (Bureau of Land
Management) managed areas and are generally open to dispersed RV
camping (boondocking). The green shaded areas are US Forest
Service (USFS) managed areas. Dispersed RV camping is allowed
in some USFS areas, but the eastern Sierra mountains are very popular,
and there are camping restrictions in some National Forest areas. Click
