Recreational Vehicle Types – Class A Motorhome

Big, powerful and ready for long distance travel, the Class A motorhome is the luxury way to get into the great outdoors. One reason these units are popular is they have the ability to tow a car or boat, and www.rv-camping.org likes the Class A motorhome so much, we live full time in ours and pull our modified Jeep Wrangler with it.

These vehicles may come equiped with either diesel or gasoline engines, slide out living space, satellite TV systems, and more. These RVs are great for multiple night stop vacations as it’s easy to pack and go.

Class A – King Of The Road

RVRA (Recreational Vehicle Rental Association) defines a Class A Motorhome as:

Motorhome – A camping and travel vehicle, from 24 to 40 feet in length, built on a self-propelled vehicle chassis. Contains kitchen, sleeping, bathroom and dining facilities, accessible to driver’s area. Living systems include electricity, heating, air conditioning, water and propane gas. Sleeps 2 to 7 people. Living systems are self-contained, but when staying at camping grounds, most users hook up to electricity, water, sewer drain, and cable television.

The pictured Class A RV has a Cummins 325 HP diesel engine and amenities such as: Onan diesel generator, two roof air conditioners, awnings, leveling jacks, 4 door refrigerator with ice maker, power mirrors, two tvs, vcr, dvd, am/fm cassette, outside shower, day/night shades, microwave with convection oven and three burner range. This type RV rental is often limited to specific rental areas. This motorhome is shown as an example of Class A recreational vehicles available for rental.
