Public Rhode Island RV Camping
Rhode Island RV camping is available at many public campgrounds. Though small when measured in square miles, Rhode Island boasts beautiful state park campgrounds, city campgrounds offering full hookup sites and seasonal RV camping. There are numerous private RV parks located throughout the state as well.
The following are examples of public Rhode Island RV camping available. Reservations are accepted at most locations and are recommended.
CHARLESTOWN
The campground at Burlingame State Park is first come first serve and all campsites are suitable for tents and RV camping. There are no hookup sites available.
CHEPACHET
The George Washington Memorial Camping Area offers well spaced gravel campsites great for RV camping. This 100 acre state managed camping area with no RV hookups. There are pit and portable toilets, water availabe at commonly located faucets, hiking, cycling, fishing, swimming, and boat ramp.
NARRAGANSETT
Fishermen's Memorial State Park offers a 'seaside village' atmosphere where visitors will find neatly trimmed grass, tree lined paths, and activities for the whole family. Close to state beaches with hiking, biking, hot coin-op showers, fireplaces, tennis, basketball, horseshoes, and playground.
PORTSMOUTH
Melville Ponds Campground owned by the Town of Portsmouth, is located within one hundred and fifty acres of coastal woodland with wetlands, ponds, and brooks. Activities include hiking, bird watching, and fishing. The campground boasts spacious, wooded sites for tent and RV camping. Seasonal camping available.
