Truck Camper Description

Typical Truck Camper

Recreational Vehicle Types – Truck Camper

RV truck campers make a great alternative to a motorhome as the camper is removable to allow full pickup truck usage. These rental units are popular especially in Canada for back country exploring.

Truck Camper – Great For Exploring

RVRA (Recreational Vehicle Rental Association) defines a Truck Camper as:

Truck Camper – Camping unit mounted on bed of a pickup truck, 18 to 21 feet in length, including the truck. May have kitchen and toilet facilities, plus bunks to sleep 2 to 6 people. Especially popular as rental units in Canada, for wilderness use.

Truck Campers similar to the picture above offer a full range of amenities such as refrigerator, stove, air conditioning, and full bathroom facilities…very small of course, but fully functional.

In our opinion, perhaps the most versatile RV. You can drop the camper off and use the pickup until ready to go RVing again. Some folks live in this type RV full time. You can take this type RV just about anywhere the truck will go, so they are very popular with outdoors enthusiasts and back country explorers
